Elinor Haber served as a reference librarian for eleven years at MarAd's National Maritime Research Center at the USMMA, Kings Point, New York, where she assisted marine engineers, industrial psychologists and personnel from Grumman and Sperry, among others, working at the CAORF simulator.
Elinor was an educational administrator at Nassau BOCES, a shared services school district that serves 56 school districts in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. At BOCES, she was also head librarian and in that role worked with Hofstra University's Computer Lab to develop Internet training courses for school district administrators. She also coordinated professional development programs for school district administrators and teachers and designed the agency's first online professional development courses.
She has also worked on preparing and submitting grant proposals for Nassau Community College's Institutional Development Office.
Elinor earned an M.S. in the Teaching of History from Columbia University's Teachers College, received an M.A. in History from Brooklyn College, and attended Vassar College. She holds a certificate in school
supervision and administration from Long Island University/C.W. Post College.
